best chocolate chip cookies

Jump to Recipe

This is a recipe I adapted from a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook I purchased at Costco when I was first married. I have made them over and over again and now my daughters call home for the recipe and bake them for their friends.

I substituted butter flavored Crisco for butter, because the butter seems to make the cookies spread. I also cut down on the amound of sugar called for.

These cookies are best eaten warm out of the oven, but they will keep for several days.
